2021 Friday Breeders' Cup Odds

The Breeders’ Cup kicks off on Future Stars Friday, with five championship races highlighted by the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1).

The Juvenile will likely produce the early favorite for next spring’s Kentucky Derby (G1) as well as decide champion two-year-old honors.

Here is a look at the early Friday Breeders’ Cup betting odds via BUSR:

Breeders’ Cup Juvenile

The Chad Brown trained Jack Christopher is the early betting favorite for the Juvenile, currently at 7-4 at BUSR. The colt is perfect in two starts, winning the Champagne (G1) going a one turn mile at Belmont Park in his last outing. Brown won the 2017 Juvenile at Del mar with Good Magic, who had run second in the Champagne.

The Champagne has been the most produce race, with nine Juvenile winners using the race as a final prep.

Embattled trainer Bob Baffert sends out Corniche, who is the 5-2 second choice in Juvenile early wagering at BUSR. The colt is also perfect in two starts, winning the American Pharoah at Santa Anita in his stakes debut. He took the field gate to wire and drew away to win by 3 ¼ lengths. Baffert has won the Juvenile four times.

Rattle N Roll is the third choice at 13-1. The Ken McPeek trainee won the Breeders’ Futurity (G1) over the Keeneland main track in his last start.

Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf

Modern Games is the current favorite for the Juvenile Turf at 3-1 at BUSR. The colt ships to the U.S. for trainer Charlie Appleby, who has won the race twice, with Line of Duty ($9.00) in 2018 and Outstrip ($46.20) in 2013. The colt ahs won three of his five starts, taking the Somerville Stakes (G3) at Newmarket going seven furlongs on good ground in his last start.

The Euros lead the home team 9-4 in the Juvenile Turf, although U.S. based runners have taken the last two editions.

Albahr is the second choice in early Juvenile Turf wagering at BUSR. The Appleby trainee won the Summer (G1) at Woodbine in his North America debut.

Dubawi Legend (9-2) was second in the Darley Dewhurst Stakes (G1) last out and the Aiden O’Brien trained Glouthaune (8-1) won the Killavullan Stakes (G3) after a sixth in the Dewhust Stakes. O’Brien has won the Juvenile Turf four times including with Mendelssohn at Del Mar in 2017.

Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies

It looks as if just nine will go in the Juvenile Fillies with the Steve Asmussen trained Echo Zulu the current betting favorite at BUSR at 27-20. She ahs won her three career starts by a combined 15 ¾ lengths.

She won the Spinaway (G1) at seven furlongs and then the Frizette (G1) at one mile in her last outing. The Frizette has produced 13 Juvenile Fillies winners.

Juju’s Map is coming off a victory in the Alcibiades (G1) at Keeneland in her last outing. The Brad Cox trainee is the second choice in early Juvenile Fillies betting at BUSR at 7-2.

Hidden Connection won the Pocahontas (G3) at Churchill Downs by 9 ¼ lengths for the Bret Calhoun barn. She is the current third choice at 4-1.

Juvenile Fillies Turf

While the Euros have had good luck in the Juvenile Turf, the U.S. based runners have dominated in this race, winning 11 of the 13 runnings of this race.

Despite that fact, Mise En Scene is the current betting favorite at 7-1 at BUSR. The filly was fourth in the Bet365 Fillies’ Mile (G1) at Newmarket in her last start.

Hello You, Consumer Spending, Cairo Memories and Bubble Rock are all listed as co-second choices at 8-1.

Consumer Spending will be sent out by Chad Brown, who has won the Juvenile Fillies Turf five times including three years in a row from 2016 to 2018. The filly won the Selima at Laurel Park in her last start.

Cairo Memories won the Surfer Girl at Santa Anita for trainer Bob Hess in her first start against winners. She broke her maiden over the Del Mar turf in her debut.

Juvenile Turf Sprint

Averly Jane is the current favorite for the Juvenile Turf Sprint in early wagering at BUSR at 11-4. The filly can give her trainer Wesley Ward his third consecutive victory in this race. She is undefeated in four starts, taking the Indian Summer at Keeneland in her last start.

Twilight Gleaming is the second choice at 3-1 and also will be saddled by Ward. The filly broke her maiden at Belmont Park in her second career start the shipped overseas. She was second in the Queen Mary Stakes (G2) in a 21-horse field at Royal Ascot, then won the Prix de la Vallee d’Auge at Deauville in France on Aug. 7.

The Larry Rivelli trained One Timer is taking some action at 13-2. The gelding won the Speakeasy at Santa Anita in his last start.

Armor is the shortest price among the Euro invaders at 7-1. The colt was a close up third in the Middle Park Stakes (G1) at Newmarket in his final prep.
