Exaggerator remains the early wagering favorite for the Belmont Stakes (G1) on June 11, the colt listed at 6-5 at US Racing and even lower at several other wagering outlets.
Bovada has the Preakness Stakes (G1) champ listed at betting odds of 10-11 while Bet Online has the colt listed at -125.
Exaggerator rolled to a 3 ½ length victory in the Preakness Stakes, his fifth win in 11 career starts and the colt has now earned nearly $3 million. His last three wins have come over wet tracks, taking the Delta Jackpot (G3) last November, the Santa Anita Derby (G1) in April and the Preakness in his last outing.
The runner up in the Kentucky Derby (G1) to Nyquist, he likely will face four foes he beat on the first Saturday of May that skipped the Preakness—Suddenbreakingnews, Destin, Brody’s Cause and Creator.
Suddenbreakingnews, who was fifth in the Kentucky Derby, is the current second choice in early Belmont Stakes wagering at US Racing at 9-2. The colt ran second in the Arkansas Derby (G1) behind Creator in his previous outing.
Creator, who was a troubled 13th in the Kentucky Derby is currently listed at 16-1 in early Belmont Stakes betting at US Racing.
Derby sixth place finisher Destin is at 15-2 while Brody’s Cause, who was seventh in the Derby is at odds of 11-1.
The Japan based Lani is the lone runner other than Exaggerator who will start in all three jewels of the Triple Crown. Ninth in the Derby and fifth in the Preakness, the colt is currently at odds of 12-1 for the Belmont at US Racing.
The late running Cherry Wine is the current third choice in Belmont wagering at US Racing at 13-1. The colt came with a good late run to finish second in the Preakness at odds of 17-1, edging Nyquist in a photo for the place spot.
