The Todd Pletcher trained Magnum Moon remained undefeated by winning the Arkansas Derby (G1) on Saturday and picked up 100 points for the victory, landing the colt in first place in the Road to the Kentucky Derby point standings.
The colt is currently listed at 10-1 in early Kentucky Derby betting odds at USRacing and is seeking to become the first Derby winner since Apollo in 1882 to have not raced as a juvenile.
Pletcher trains four of the top five in the point standings—Magnum Moon, Audible, Noble Indy and Vino Rosso.
Updated: Both Quip and Gronkowski have been declared out of the race, meaning Combatant and Instilled Regard are now in the race.
Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) champion Good Magic finished second in the Road to the Kentucky Derby point standings with 134 points. The Chad Brown trainee won the Toyota Blue Grass (G2) at Keeneland in his last outing.
The colt is currently listed at 6-1 in early Derby betting at US Racing.
The Bob Baffert trained Justify is the current betting favorite for the Run for the Roses at 7-2. The colt won the Santa Anita Derby (G1) in his last outing and finished in ninth in the Derby point standings with 100.
