We are going flat already this time of the season and Chelmsford will be serving all of that kind of action on Thursday as the week races to another end. With one of the biggest events of the calendar coming up, keeping a close eye in these races will be key and will be the chance for jockeys and trainers to take stock because you can bet on Royal Acsot, it will be a clash of heavyweights. Thrill will be guaranteed but first of, Chelmsford City is serving up appetizers with a seven-race card that will keep the energy up for fans, trainers and the horses. The track is expected to be decompacted, and the forecast, dry. This one will be well off working hours with a 5 PM start.

At the turn of the hour, we will go down two Classes to Class 6, as ten horses aged four years old and above run out six feet for the CELEBRATING THE tote AND PMU PARTNERSHIP HANDICAP STAKES. The purse stands at £5,527 and the horses will be rated 46-65.

Chelmers Fillies Stakes Offers Biggest Purse

The next race on the card will be the second 6 PM run of the day, and will be the CHELMERS FILLIES’ STAKES. A listed race for Class 1 horses, it is by far the biggest purse of the day at £30,000, and the horses will only have to conquer a distance of six feet. The race will be for three-year-olds only. Two 7 PM horses will take over from that highlight of the day, firstly with the BIGGER POOLS WITH PMU PARTNERSHIP HANDICAP STAKES.

Just a Class back from the previous race, this one will push the horses for a mile and two feet for a prize of £19,000. At Class 2, the horses will be rated 86-105, and aged four years old and above. The second of 7 PM will be the MINISTRY OF SOUND CLASSICAL 21ST AUGUST HANDICAP STAKES. Run for a distance of one mile and two feet, the race will be for horses aged three, and rated 46-55.

The last race will be the LADIES DAY 26TH AUGUST MAIDEN FILLIES’ STAKES, a Class 5 run for £5,300 and a distance of one mile and two feet. The horses will be three years old and above. This will be the curtain call on a late day, with the race kicking off at 8 PM.
