A very competitive field of 12 three-year-old fillies will line up in Sunday’s $150,000 Winter Memories going 1 1/16 miles on the inner turf course at Aqueduct.
The Pick 6 went unsolved on Saturday thanks to longshots Williway ($94.50) and Mandate ($94.50). There is a $61,096 carryover for this afternoon. The Pick 6 starts in the fourth race.
The Winter Memories is one of the toughest races in the sequence. The Jorge Abreu trained Runaway Rumour is the 7-2 morning line favorite but drew the 11 post. Abreu will give jockey Jose Lezcano a leg up on the daughter of Flintshire.
“I’m more concerned about the weather than anything else. We’re supposed to get some rain,” Abreu said. “The horse is doing great though. She came out of her last race in really good shape and had a nice breeze at Belmont the other day. She doesn’t need much done with her, she’s a small horse.”
White Frost is the second choice on the morning line at 4-1. The Bill Mott trainee is coming off the sidelines, last seen winning the Sweet Chant (G3) at Gulfstream Park back in January.
Gam’s Mission (9-2) gets the call. Trained by Cherie DeVaux, she was fifth in the Saratoga Oaks Invitational (G3) in her last outing at 1 3/16 miles. Luis Saez has the return call and the filly breaks from the four post.

Saratoga Oaks Replay
Let’s head out to Aqueduct for Sunday’s featured race of the day:
Aqueduct Race 8 The Winter Memories (3:44 ET)
4 Gam’s Mission 9-2
6 White Frost 4-1
11 Runaway Rumour 7-2
12 Flown 12-1
Gam’s Mission
This filly returns off a three-month break for the Nevi barn aft the filly chased the early pace and weakened to finish fifth last out in the Saratoga Oaks Invitational (G3) going 1 3/16 miles. Two back over good ground she checked in fourth in the Belmont Oaks (G1) behind repeat winner Santa Barbara who came back to win the Beverly D. (G1) at Arlington Park in her next outing on Aug. 14. Our top pick won her three previous starts including the Regret (G3) in her stakes debut at Churchill Downs on good ground going 1 1/8 miles. The cut back to 1 1/16 miles should suit her and she has shown she runs well on ground with some give to it which may be the case with some rain in the forecast for Saturday.
White Frost
The Mott trainee makes her first start since January where she came with a good late rally to win the Sweet Chant (G3) at Gulfstream Park in her first start against winners. She beat a solid group that included Con Lima and Domain Expertise who are both now graded stakes winners. She is working well for her return for the Mott barn that is 18% winners (with a ROI) with runners coming back off a +180 day layoff. fact the Hall of Fame trainer brings her back in a stake as opposed to an Alw-2 seems to signal this gal is going to be ready to go off the bench.
Runaway Rumour
She earned a career top speed fig last out in the Sands Point (G2) at Belmont Park going 1 1/8 miles. She was last early and came with a good five wide rally to come up just a neck short. She has run well on less than firm turf, a good second in the Lake Placid (G2) three back at the Spa over yielding ground at this distance. Looks as if she is going to get a bit more pace to run at in this spot. A tough spot but she looks like a good fit in this spot.
