Saturday’s feature at Aqueduct is the $150,000 Artie Schiller at one mile on the turf with a field of eleven headed to the gate including a pair of runners from the Chad Brown barn.
Brown saddles Night Prowler (5-1), who rallied to finish second against $100,000 optional claimers in his last outing, beaten by Blacktype, who came back to win the Knickerbocker (G2) in his next outing and is the 3-1 morning line favorite in this race.
The gelding will break from the rail with jockey Javier Castellano in the irons.
A Lot (6-1) was sixth beaten three lengths against $100,000 optional claimers in his first start off a 11-month layoff for Brown. The five-year-old is Grade 1 placed, running second in the Fourstardave handicap (G1) last summer at Saratoga.
Brown will give a leg up to jockey Junior Alvarado, who rode him three times back in 2015inclduing a runner up finish in the Better Talk Now Stakes at Saratoga.
As for Blacktype (3-1), he is seeking his third consecutive victory for trainer Christophe Clement. The gelding is looking to improve off his runner up finish in this race last year. Joel Rosario has the return call.

Analysis: Night Prowler made a good late rally to finish in the runner up spot behind Blacktype last out against $100,000 optional claimers, the winner coming back to win the Knickerbocker (G2) and is the likely favorite in here. Our top pick rallied to finish third in this race last year, beaten 1 3/4 lengths. He returns here off a two month break and is getting six pounds from our second choice and is going to offer a bit more value for the top spot.
Blacktype ran second in this race last year and earned a triple digit Beyer for the fifth consecutive time in that effort. He lost his first four starts this year but looks back on track winning his last pair, a near career top number winning the Knickerbocker. The Clement trainee runs well over ground with some give to it which we might see today with some rain in the forecast for this afternoon. He can handle the cut back to a mile and looks primed for another top effort here.
A Lot stumbled coming out of the gate last out in his first go off a 11-month layoff, checking in sixth while beaten three lengths against $100,000 optional claimers. He won the Elusive Quality last year and was a good second in the Fourstardave ‘Cap (G1) at the Spa last summer. He should move forward second off the bench and with a better start.
