The Chad Brown trained Money Multiplier is the 5-2 morning line favorite for Saturday’s feature at Aqueduct, the $200,000 Red Smith Handicap (G3). The race drew 11 runners and one also-eligible that will travel 1 3/8 miles.
Money Multiplier was a disappointing eighth at 9-2 in the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic (G1) in his last outing. The Brown trainee ran well in his two previous starts, a win in the Monmouth (G2) followed by a game runner up finish in the Sword Dancer (G1) at 1 ½ miles at Saratoga.
Brown has won the Rd Smith twice, with Mr. Maybe in 2015 and Expansion in 2009.
Hunter O’Riliey is the second choice on the morning line at 4-1. The James Toner trainee rallied late to finish fourth in the Sword Dancer (G1) in his last outing. He won the Bowling Green (G2) at the Spa two back.
Brown also saddles the third choice in Call Provision (5-1), who beat $100,000 optional claimers in his last start at Belmont park at today’s distance.
The New York bred Get Jets (6-1) has won three of his last four starts, winning the Ashley T. Cole at Belmont Park in his last start. The Tony Dutrow trainee comes in sharp as he faces graded stakes company for the first time in his career.

Let’s head out to the Big A for Saturday’s featured race of the day:
Aqueduct Race 8 The Red Smith Hcp G3 (3:47 ET)
#9 Hunter O’Riley 4-1
#2 Money Multiplier 5-2
#12 Messi 10-1
#5 Oscar Nominated 8-1
Analysis: Hunter O’Riley stalked the early pace and did not have enough punch left late in a fourth-place finish in the Sword Dancer (G1) last out at 1 1/2 miles. He won the Bowling Green (G2) two back at today’s 1 3/8 mile distance. He returns here off a 2 1/2 month break here for the Toner barn that is 31% winners with runners coming back off a 61-180 day layoff. He comes in here off his two best career numbers.
Money Multiplier stalked the early pace and was rank going into the first turn and he faded in the stretch to finish eighth in the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic (G1) in a disappointing effort. He was a game second two back in the Sword Dancer and won the Monmouth (G2) three back at nine furlongs. The Chad Brown trainee has earned triple digit Beyers in seven of his last nine starts and has landed in the exacta in all three trips at this distance.
Messi set the early fractions over soft ground in the Canadian International (G1) and faded to finish a well beaten ninth. The Motion trainee is better on firmer ground and ran a close up third in the Northern Dancer (G1) two back at 1 1/2 miles. He draws an outside post and needs to bounce back off a poor effort but is going to be a decent price in this spot.
