Michael’s Free Horse Picks for Sunday Nov. 14:
Aqueduct Race 2 Md $40,000 (12:50 ET)
- No.2 V Pattern 4-1
- No.3 Damilano 5-1
- No.7 Majestic Tiger 7-2
- No.4 Top of the Mint 3-1
V Pattern was beaten double digit lengths in his last two outings, last out a well beaten fifth at Belmont Park going a mile. Two have exited that race to graduate next out. Two back in the slop he was fourth behind repeat winner Gold Panda who beat state bred Alw-1 foes next out and then ran second against state bred Alw-2 company. The gelding is by Street Sense out of a A.P. Indy mare that has dropped four winners including graded stakes winner Sharp Starr ($348,295) and stakes placed Papa Shot ($510,688). Looking for him to bounce back here facing an easier group.
Damilano returns off a three month break here for the Bond barn that is 12% winners with runners coming back off a 61-180 day layoff. The gelding checked in fourth last out over a wet track at the Spa. He came with a good late rally to finish third two back and in the slop three back was a game second. It looks as if seven panels should suit him and he reunites with Saez.
Michael’s Free Horse Picks for Saturday Nov. 13:
Aqueduct Race 2 Md $40,000 (12:20 ET)
- No.3 Beau Brown 10-1
- No.2 Rally Squirrel 5-2
- No.6 Seanan 5-1
- No.10 Ghostman 9-2
Beau Brown stretches out to a route of ground for the first time here for the Hennig barn. Last out at six furlongs on turf the gelding tracked the early pace and came up empty in the stretch in a seventh place finish. The barn claimed this guy three back for $40,000 out of a seventh place finish on the main track. This guy has six sibs that are turf winners and three are stakes winners but most have done their best work sprinting including multiple stakes winner Very Vegas ($482,682). This is a pretty weak looking spot and he is going to end up a decent enough price.
Rally Squirrel makes his first starts since his debut back in April where he was outrun early and came with a mild late run to finish fourth going long over good ground at Belmont Park at 18-1. A pair came out of that race to graduate next out. Morley is coming off a strong Belmont Park meet but is 0 for his last 10 with runners coming back off a +180 day layoff. The colt is out of a Came Home mare that has dropped four winners including two turf winners. Lasix is added and Castellano takes the call.
Michael’s Free Horse Picks for Friday Nov. 12:
Aqueduct Race 1 Md Sp Wt (12:20 ET)
- No.2 Demandsrespect 5-2
- No.1 Greatitude 3-1
- No.4 Mischievous Diane 2-1
- No.3 Puglia 5-1
Demandsrespect was sent off at 8-1 in her debut catching a muddy track at the Spa back in July. She chased the early pace while a bit keen, the jock took a hold of her just off heels of a foe and came with a five wide bid to finish evenly for fifth, beaten 2 1/4 lengths. Three have exited that race to win next out including the winner Miss Interpret, who won the PG Johnson at the Spa on Sept. 2. Brow is 26% winners with second out maidens. She is by Union Rags out of the stakes winner Walkwithapurpose ($297,210) who has dropped four winners including stakes winner Where Paradise Lay ($222,250). She has worked sharply since her debut effort and Brown can bring them back running off the break.
Greatitude is a $230,000 Ocala purchase making her debut for the Pletcher barn that is 18% winners with debut runners. She is by Dialed In out of a stakes placed Empire Maker mare and should be able to handle a wet track. Good works on the morning tab including a couple of recent gate drills should have this gal ready to go.
Michael’s Free Horse Picks for Thursday Nov. 11:
Aqueduct Race 1 Md Sp Wt (12:20 ET)
- No.8 Saratoga Gaze 8-5
- No.6 Caumsett 3-1
- No.1 Out of Sight 7-2
- No.2 Lady Thornhill 5-1
Saratoga Gaze put in a solid effort in her debut for the Clement barn when sent off at 9-1 in a field of 10 at Belmont Park going six furlongs. She pressed the early pace, took over the lead and could not match strides late with the winner in a runner up finish. She was three lengths clear of the rest of the field in the effort. She is out of a Sky Mesa mare that has dropped four turf winners including a pair of stakes winners, top earner Saratoga Treasure ($336,083). Clement is 21% winners with second out maidens. She looks like she will be tough as the likely short priced favorite here in the opener. The extra ground here should suit her.
Caumsett has come up short nine times, landing in the money in five of those outings. Last out she carved out the early fractions and got caught at the wire, beaten a neck in a tough beat at nearly 6-1. She was stretching out after a pair of turf sprints two and three back. Castellano sticks for Sciacca and she does not need to move forward much off her last effort to land in the exacta in this spot.
