The $10 million Dubai World Cup G1 Post time 1:40 ET
Multiple Grade 1 winner Game On Dude ships in from the UJ.S. for hall of fame trainer Bob Baffert, who suffered a minor heart attack on March 25, but plans on attending the races on Saturday night. The five-year-old gelding is coming off a sharp win in the San Antonio (G2) at Santa Anita. There is not a ton of early speed in this race and jockey Chantal Sutherland should be able to control the early pace and the gelding will prove tough to pass in the stretch.
So You Think makes his first start since a disappointing sixth place finish in last fall’s Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1), his third loss in a row. Dirt was not his thing and now he tries a synthetic surface for the first time. The six-year-old has been nearly unstoppable on turf, a multiple Grade 1 winner who has won a dozen times on grass in 19 outings. The Aiden O’Brien barn can win off the layoff and if he takes to the new surface he figures to be right in the mix although Game On Dude appears to have the tactical advantage.
