With just over two months to go before the first Saturday of May, two-time Triple Crown winning trainer Bob Baffert has the current favorite in Nadal in 2020 Kentucky Derby future odds wagering.
In the latest horse racing betting Nadal is as low as 8-1, the colt undefeated in his two career starts. After breaking his maiden in his debut on Jan. 19 he came back to win the San Vicente (G3) at Santa Anita on Feb. 9. Baffert is pointing the talented colt to the Rebel (G2) at Oaklawn Park on March 14.
Tiz the Law is taking action after his victory in the Holy Bull (G3) at Gulfstream Park in his last outing on Feb. 1. The Barclay Tagg trainee has won three of his four career starts, his lone loss a third in the Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) at Churchill Downs on Nov. 30. The colt is currently the co-second choice in early Kentucky Derby betting at US Racing at 10-1.
Authentic is the co-second choice at 10-1. The Baffert trainee broke his maiden in his debut, then won the Sham (G3) at Santa Anita on Jan. 4. His next outing likely will come in the San Felipe (G2) at Santa Anita on March 7.
Dennis’ Moment has been highly regarded since his maiden win last July in his second career outing. He came back to win the Iroquois (G2) at Churchill Downs on Sept. 14 and was sent off as the betting favorite for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1).
Sent off as the 4-5 chalk in the Juvenile, the colt stumbled coming out of the gate and was never a threat, checking in a disappointing eighth. The colt is in action on Saturday as the likely heavy favorite in the Fountain of Youth (G2) at Gulfstream Park. A big effort will see his Kentucky Derby future price drop from his current 12-1 odds.
Thousand Words is currently at 16-1 and is another Baffert trainee. The colt is undefeated in his three career outings.
After breaking his maiden in his debut at Santa Anita last October he won the Los Alamitos Futurity (G2), then won the Robert B. Lewis (G3) in his three-year-old debut on Feb. 1. Next up for the colt likely is the San Felipe on March 7.
Baffert’s Charlatan is getting some buzz after an impressive maiden win on Feb. 16. It is a late start to make it to the Kentucky Derby, but don’t forget Justify did not break his maiden until Feb. 18 back in 2018 and he went on to sweep the Triple Crown.
