Game On Dude (center) is the early favorite for the Breeders' Cup Classic
The Bob Baffert trained Game On Dude is the early betting favorite for the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) according to the 2012 Breeders Cup Classic Future Odds released by Bovada.
The Breeders’ Cup Classic will be run on Nov. 3 at Santa Anita Park.
The gelding has made five starts in 2012, winning three of his outings. He capped off his 2011 campaign with a runner up finish in the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at Churchill Downs.
The Baffert trainee started off this year winning the San Antonio Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita on Feb. 5, and then did not fire his best in a 12th place finish in the Dubai World Cup (G1) at Meydan.
The connections did not have a very good trip to Dubai either, as Baffert suffered a heat attack and spent time in the hospital.
Game On Dude bounced back on his return to the U.S., winning the Californian (G1) and the Hollywood Gold Cup (G1), and then running second in the Pacific Classic (G1) at Del Mar over polytrack.
His final prep for the Classic comes on Sept. 29 in the Awesome Again Stakes (G1), whihc was formerly called the Goodwood.
Travers (G1) winner Alpha shares second choice honors with 2011 Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom at 7-1 betting odds.
Pacific Classic (G1) winner Dullahan is listed at 12-1 along with European sensation Frankel. Also at 12-1 is Mucho Macho Man, who ran second in the Woodward (G1) in his last outing on Sept. 1.
