A field of seven New York bred two-year-olds head to the gate in the $100,000 Notebook on Sunday at Aqueduct including the Philly invader Ny Traffic.
The Harold Wyner trainee was fourth in the Parx Juvenile in his last outing after breaking his maiden at Parx Racing two back by 3 ¼ lengths. Jockey Javier Castellano has the call on the son of Cross Traffic, who is 5-1 on the morning line.
The Rudy Rodriguez trained Dream Bigger is the 8-5 morning line favorite. The colt wired the field in the New York Breeders’ Futurity at Finger Lakes on Sept. 30. The colt drew away to win by 10 ¾ lengths in his maiden breaker.
“He’s training forwardly. He’s doing everything that we’ve asked of him and he’s been up against some nice solid horses,” Rodriguez said. “Hopefully he can run with them again and take it from there, but he’s coming to this race in very good shape. Right now, the main goal is to run him in the big race.”
Jose Ortiz has the return call and will break from post seven.
Scilly Bay (8-1) is coming off a solid maiden win in his second career start at Belmont Park. The Linda Rice trainee breaks from the two post with Jose Lezcano aboard.

Aqueduct Race 9 The Notebook (Post time 3:50 ET)
#1 Ny Traffic 5-1
#2 Scilly Cay 8-1
#7 Dream Bigger 8-5
#6 Harris Bay 7-2
Ny Traffic
This colt invades from Philly where last out he was bumped coming out of the gate, prompted the early pace and tired to finish fourth in the Parx Juvenile. The colt earned a slid number two back breaking his maiden in his second career start. In his debut three back he prompted the early pace and weakened to finish third behind the winner Independence Hall, who came back to win the Nashua (G3) in his next outing on Nov. 3. He takes on state breds for the first time here and looking for this colt to bounce back with a better effort than we saw last out. If he runs back to his maiden win two back, he fits here and may end up getting overlooked on the tote.
Scilly Cay
The Rice trainee pressed the early pace and drew clear to a smart looking maiden win in his second career start for the Rice barn. The colt showed speed in his debut two back before weakening late to finish third. The winner Three Jokers ran second in the state bred Bongard in his next start. The colt is out of the stakes winner French Satin ($165,894) who has dropped seven other winners including a pair of stakes winners, top earner Long Haul Bay ($303,840).
Dream Bigger
This guy is going to be sent off as the chalk in here. He ran second in his first two starts then shipped to Finger Lakes where she rolled to a 10 3/4 length win in the New York Breeders’ Futurity. The RRod trainee owns the top last out speed fig and solid early and mid pace numbers. he has three drills over the Big A main track here since his win last out. He looks legit but his price is going to be on the light side.
