The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today announced a number of unique wagering opportunities for the upcoming 2022 summer meet at historic Saratoga Race Course.
The summer meet, which begins on Thursday, July 14 and continues through Monday, September 5, will offer special wagers on marquee days at Saratoga, as well as in conjunction with other racetracks across the country. All special wagers will have a mandatory force-out of the pool.
Two-day Double
The two-day double will be offered on Saturday, August 6 through Sunday, August 7 and features the middle legs of the Caesars Turf Triple Series with the Grade 1, $1 million Caesars Saratoga Derby Invitational on Saturday and the Grade 3, $700,000 Saratoga Oaks Invitational on Sunday. The base wager is $1 with an 18.5 percent takeout.

Two-day Pick 6
The two-day Pick 6 will be offered twice during the Saratoga meet: on Friday, August 26 for New York-bred Showcase Day through Saturday, August 27 for Grade 1 Runhappy Travers Day; and again on Sunday, September 4, which features the Grade 1 Spinaway, through Monday, September 5 to close out the meet with the Grade 1 Hopeful. The base wager is .20 cents with a takeout of 15 percent.
Cross Country Pick 5
The Cross County Pick 5, which has been on the wagering menu on Saturdays throughout the 2022 meetings at Belmont Park and Aqueduct Racetrack, will continue to be offered on most Saturdays at Saratoga, plus three Sundays on August 7, August 14 and August 21. This wager will not be available on the Runhappy Travers Day card on Saturday, August 27. A special cross-breed sequence will be offered on Saturday, August 6 in conjunction with the standardbred card on Hambletonian Day at Meadowlands Racetrack. The base wager is .50 cents with a 15 percent takeout.
NYRA Triple Play
The NYRA Triple Play is a Pick 3 wager with a $3 bet minimum and a takeout rate of 19 percent. Introduced at this year’s spring/summer meet at Belmont Park, the NYRA Triple Play will feature three specially selected races every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Saratoga.
The 40-day summer meet at Saratoga will see at least one stakes race per racing day with 77 total stakes worth a combined $22.6 million, highlighted by Grade 1 Runhappy Travers Day on Saturday, August 27 with six graded stakes on tap for the lucrative card.
