Mike’s Free Selections for Saturday June 25:
Thursday free play: Produced a $2 recommended exacta that paid $48.20 and a $1 trifecta that returned $80.50.
Belmont Park Race 5 Clm $16,000N2L (3:36 ET)
- No.2 Don’t Point 4-1
- No.5 Howie’s Tiz 3-1
- No.1 Luckybuck Syndrome 6-1
- No.8 Guyana Cat 7-2
Don’t Point is back on the main track here after racing on turf in two of his last three and catching a muddy track two back. On that off track the colt set the early fractions while down along a deep inside and weakened late to finish third in a good effort. He drops into an easier spot her tagged for $16,000 and pedigree wise he seem better suited for dirt.
Howie’s Tiz stalked the early pace and came with a mild late run while wide to finish in the runner up spot last out. He caught a racing strip that was kind to runners on or near the lead that day. The Levine runner looks headed in the right direction although the barn has been on the chilly side at the meeting. The barn hits at a 17% clip moving runners form sprint to route.
WIN: #2 to win at 5-2 or better.
EX: 2,5 / 1,2,5,8
TRI: 2,5 / 1,2,5,8 / 1,2,5,8,10
